Identity Management Solutions

The fall out of IT growth was the rise in identity theft. Almost all organizations face this problem in one way or the other. Since most organizations store sensitive information such as client details, employee details, details regarding company finance in their database, which sometimes needs to be transferred, there is a very good chance of this data being used by miscreants for unlawful activities. So, there is a great need of information security and the only possible solution is identity management .

Identity management systems allow or forbid access to individuals to high secure places like buildings, companies, etc and services like bank accounts, systems, etc. Earlier the right of entry was given to those who had a magnetic card or a password but now it is no longer effective. Identity management solutions include more successful access technologies like fingerprint readers, retina scanners, palm readers, etc.

There are several identity management systems available that helps to determine if the access for a given group is consistent across the enterprise. It also facilitates to view information by application or resource (such as drive or file system), that helps in determining easily whether the resource has appropriate ownership, and whether the individual or group access to the resource is in accordance with the system policies.

Comments

Definitely the future of Identity Theft prevention, at least on the corporate level. With rampant reports of personal information thievery at so many organizations, this type of protection is almost guaranteed to have a giant customer base.
